Tensile Membrane Structure
Technical Data & Engineering Specifications

Full material specifications, steel grades, structural performance data, and engineering capabilities for every Jutent project.

Membrane Material Specifications

Jutent supplies tensile membrane structures using two primary high-performance fabric types: PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). For applications requiring partial shading with airflow, mesh fabric is also available. All membrane materials are available in a wide range of standard and custom colours — white is the most widely specified, but custom colour matching is available upon request.

Full material data sheets (MDS) for each membrane grade are available for download on our Documentation page →

Mesh Fabric (Shade Mesh)

For applications requiring partial shading with natural ventilation — open-air sports courts, playgrounds, agricultural structures. Blocks 50–90% solar radiation depending on shade factor. Contact us to discuss suitability.

Approved Membrane Brands

Jutent works with internationally recognised suppliers including Duken, Ferrari, Sattler, Hightex, and Castillo. Brand selection is confirmed at the engineering stage based on project requirements.

Steel Structure Specifications

All steel components are fabricated to international structural standards. Jutent primarily uses two steel grades, each mapped to the equivalent international standard for the benefit of overseas contractors and engineers.

Surface Treatment & Anti-Corrosion

STEP 01
Shot Blasting
Sa 2.5 standard (ISO 8501-1) — removes mill scale and rust for maximum coating adhesion.
STEP 02
Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer
Dry film thickness ≥ 60 μm. Provides galvanic protection against corrosion.
STEP 03
Fluorocarbon Topcoat
Dry film thickness ≥ 40 μm. UV-resistant PVDF topcoat for long-term colour retention.
Note: Baked enamel finishes are not available. The epoxy + fluorocarbon system provides superior long-term protection and can be field-repaired. Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) is available as an upgrade for coastal or highly corrosive environments.
Método de Conexión

Structures are designed with bolted connections as the primary assembly method — no specialised welding equipment required on site. Column base connections allow on-site welding to accommodate foundation tolerances.

Steel Structure Warranty

The structural steel frame carries a 2-year warranty covering fabrication quality and structural integrity under normal use conditions.

Structural Calculation Standards

Our structural calculations are prepared in accordance with Chinese national standards (GB 50009 / GB 50017). For projects requiring international standards such as ASCE 7 (US) or AS/NZS 1170 (Australia / New Zealand), we can accommodate this upon request.

Complete calculation documentation is provided with every project. If your local authority requires review by a locally licensed engineer, we supply the full dataset — load inputs, section properties, and analysis outputs — to support that process.

Engineering & Design Capabilities

Every Jutent project is backed by a full engineering workflow — from initial concept modelling through to fabrication drawings and on-site installation guidance.

Quality Assurance

Quality control is built into every stage of our production process — from raw material inspection through to pre-shipment checks. Our fabrication workflow covers incoming material verification, in-process weld inspection, surface treatment thickness measurement, and final dimensional checks before packing.

Material Verification
Mill certificates verified for every steel batch. Membrane material test reports reviewed before production.
Weld Inspection
In-process weld quality checks at all structural joints. Visual and dimensional inspection at each stage.
Coating Thickness
Dry film thickness measured on all steel components to confirm primer and topcoat meet specification.
Pre-Shipment Check
Final dimensional check and packing inspection before dispatch to ensure goods match order specifications.
For clients who require independent verification, third-party inspection (SGS or equivalent) can be arranged after production is complete and goods are ready for shipment. We provide full access and documentation to support the inspection process.

Preguntas frecuentes

What membrane weight do you recommend for a project in Southeast Asia?

For standard commercial projects in Southeast Asia, we typically specify 1050 g/m² PVDF as the baseline. For coastal locations or areas with typhoon exposure, we upgrade to 1300 g/m² and increase the steel frame section sizes accordingly. All recommendations are confirmed after reviewing the project’s wind zone classification.

Can you provide a structural calculation report for permit applications?

Yes. We produce structural calculation reports based on Chinese national standards (GB 50009 / GB 50017). If your project requires ASCE 7, AS/NZS 1170, or another international standard, we can accommodate this upon request. If your local authority requires a locally licensed engineer to review or co-sign the report, we provide the complete calculation dataset to support that process.

¿Cuál es la diferencia entre la membrana de PVDF y PTFE?

PVDF membrane uses a PVC base fabric coated with polyvinylidene fluoride. It offers excellent UV resistance, a 10-year warranty, and is the most cost-effective choice for the majority of commercial projects. PTFE membrane uses a glass-fibre base with a PTFE coating — non-combustible (Class A fire rating), 15-year warranty, specified for permanent landmark structures.

Can I specify a custom colour for the membrane?

Yes. Membrane is available in a wide range of standard and custom colours. White is the most widely used, but we can accommodate custom colour requirements. Confirm your colour requirement at the enquiry stage and we will advise on available options.

What wind speed can your structures withstand?

Our structures are designed to withstand wind speeds of 200 km/h and above, subject to structural calculation. The actual design wind speed is determined by the project location’s wind zone classification. Every project receives a site-specific structural analysis.
