Challenge - Solution
The client aimed to create a healthy sports facility for the local community by providing a basketball court that young people can use in both sunny and rainy weather. The membrane canopy was required to offer effective sun protection while keeping the court bright, open, and comfortable for daily activities.
The main design challenge was adapting the membrane structure to a rural site while avoiding conflicts with surrounding trees and nearby low-rise buildings. The canopy layout and structural spacing were carefully adjusted to provide sufficient playing space for the basketball court, while preserving the surrounding trees and ensuring that daylight to nearby low-rise houses was not affected.
Installation - Support
The project was built in a rural area with limited site conditions. Surrounding trees and nearby low-rise buildings reduced the available space for construction equipment and on-site operations.
To address this, the installation plan was adjusted to suit the site constraints, and materials were delivered and assembled in stages, allowing the structure to be installed safely and efficiently within the restricted working space.
