Project Overview

This project is located in Shaoguan, China, and involves a tensile membrane canopy for electric vehicle parking at Qianhai Life Hospital. The project was completed in August 2024 with a construction period of approximately 20 days. The total covered area is about 863 m². The main structure adopts an I-beam steel system with a total steel consumption of approximately 9 tons. All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat, providing enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. The roof is covered with 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane, featuring B1 fire-retardant performance, fully compliant with safety requirements for semi-permanent buildings and public facilities.

Challenge - Solution

Located within the hospital’s internal parking area, the canopy was required to meet the following criteria: Reliable sun shading and rain protection Clean, practical, and unobtrusive appearance As membrane carports are a mature and standardized solution, we proposed an I-beam double-cantilever tensile membrane layout, which was fully approved by the client for its functionality, cost efficiency, and suitability for hospital environments.
