Project Overview
This tensile membrane canopy project is located in Kuwait and was completed in 2021. With a total covered area of approximately 369 m², the structure is designed for sun shading and landscape enhancement in a commercial street atrium. The canopy adopts a framed swallow-inspired tensile membrane form supported by a steel structure. All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat for corrosion protection. The roof uses 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane with B1 fire rating, meeting safety standards for semi-permanent buildings and public spaces.

Challenge - Solution
The client required a tensile membrane canopy for the commercial street atrium, primarily serving as a landscape and decorative feature while integrating with the rooftop structural framework of the surrounding buildings. Based on these requirements, our designers developed a solution combining a steel frame with swallow-inspired tensile membrane forms, achieving a balance between lightweight structure and modern architectural expression.
Installation - Support
Installation was carried out by a local team under the on-site guidance of our professional engineers. A segmented assembly method was used to ensure uniform membrane tension and precise alignment. The project was completed efficiently and in accordance with the approved design and schedule.
