Project Overview
This project is located at Longchuan Middle School in Heyuan City, China, and was successfully completed in September 2021. It is a tensile membrane canopy installed over the school’s stadium grandstand. The canopy measures approximately 23 m × 8 m, with a central height of 5 m, and uses about 7 tons of steel, designed to meet the long-term functional needs of campus public activities.
The steel structure is coated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat for corrosion protection, enhancing durability and longevity. The roof is covered with 1100 g/㎡ white PVDF architectural membrane, with B1 fire rating, meeting safety standards for public buildings and campus facilities.

Challenge - Solution
The canopy is located over the school stadium’s grandstand and is intended to support daily school activities, flag-raising ceremonies, and large campus events. The client required a structure that provides sun and rain protection while maintaining a clean, modern design that integrates with the campus environment.
Based on site dimensions and functional requirements, we designed a triple-arched tensile membrane canopy. The lightweight and streamlined design meets all functional needs while enhancing the overall visual identity and aesthetic of the grandstand.
Installation - Support
The project was executed entirely by our professional installation team. Considering on-site conditions, we employed a full assembly and lifting method: the steel framework and membrane were pre-assembled and tensioned on the ground to ensure uniform stress distribution and smooth lines. The complete structure was then lifted into position using two cranes and secured precisely. The installation process was efficient, and the project was completed on schedule, achieving the planned design outcomes.
