Project Overview
This tensile membrane canopy project is located in Dongximen Village, Daiyue District, Tai’an, Shandong, China, and was completed in 2019. The structure covers approximately 386 m² and features an arched truss roof supported by a steel framework. All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat for corrosion protection. The roof is clad with 1100 g/m² PTFE architectural membrane with B1 fire rating, meeting safety standards for semi-permanent buildings and public spaces.
Défi - Solution
In response to the client’s requirements, both precise material application and expressive architectural form were key design considerations. Inspired by the concept of “clouds,” the design emphasizes a sense of floating, lightness, and transparency. The soft, airy visual language creates a pleasant contrast with the rugged natural landscape of northern China, offering a relaxed and uplifting spatial experience.
Installation - Support
Installation was executed by our professional team using a segmented assembly method with crane lifting. This ensured uniform membrane tension, accurate alignment, and efficient construction. The project was completed on schedule, fully meeting functional and aesthetic expectations.
