Project Overview
This tensile membrane canopy project is located at Zhaoqing Technical College, China, and was completed in 2020. With a total covered area of approximately 960 m², the structure is designed to provide sunshade and rain protection for a basketball court. The canopy adopts an arched frame tensile membrane system supported by a steel structure. All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat for corrosion resistance. The roof is clad with 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane with B1 fire rating, meeting safety standards for semi-permanent buildings and public spaces.

Défi - Solution
The client required a tensile membrane canopy for the basketball court located between the teaching building and student dormitory, primarily to provide effective sun and rain protection while integrating with the surrounding building structures. Based on these requirements, our designers developed an arched steel frame tensile membrane solution, with the structural frame anchored between the teaching and dormitory buildings to achieve both functional coverage and architectural integration.
Installation - Support
Installation was carried out by our professional installation team using a segmented assembly method. Steel trusses were lifted into place with crane assistance to ensure accurate positioning. This approach ensured uniform structural stability and membrane tension across the entire canopy. The project was completed efficiently according to schedule and fully met the design intent and client requirements.
