Project Overview
This project is located at Peng’ou Middle School in Shantou City, China, and was completed in June 2019. It is a curved tensile membrane canopy for a stadium grandstand. The overall canopy size is approximately 20 m × 8 m, with a central height of about 4.5 m. The steel structure consumption is around 3 tons, and the total construction period was approximately 20 days.
The main steel structure is treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat, providing enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. The roofing system uses 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane, featuring B1 fire-retardant performance, fully compliant with safety standards for public and educational facilities.

Challenge - Solution
Located at the school sports field grandstand, the canopy was required to serve both daily use and large-scale school events. The client requested a solution that provides sun and rain protection while maintaining a modern, clean appearance that integrates well with the overall sports field environment.
Based on the site conditions and functional requirements, we adopted a curved tensile membrane structure design. This solution delivers a lightweight and streamlined appearance, ensuring functional performance while enhancing the visual identity and spatial quality of the grandstand.
