Project Location: Heesung Electronics Factory, Guangzhou Coverage Area: 1250 square meters Completion Year: 2020 Building Type: Curved Tensile Membrane Corridor Canopy Project Background: As a large-scale electronics manufacturing enterprise, the factory has a massive logistics throughput. To ensure that goods are protected from heavy rain and scorching sun during loading and unloading, and to guarantee all-weather efficient logistics operations, the client urgently needed to construct a large-area sunshade and rain-proof canopy at the loading area in front of the factory building.

Desafio - Solução

Challenge 1: Restricted Workspace & Ultra-Large-Scale Lifting The on-site space in the factory’s loading area was narrow and adjacent to buildings already in use. The traditional full-scaffold, high-altitude piecemeal assembly method would not only be highly inefficient but also severely disrupt the factory’s daily operations. Jutent Solution: Segmented Ground Pre-Assembly & Integral Lifting Faced with a massive 1250-square-meter structure, our engineering team developed a scientific modularization strategy. We logically divided the entire steel structural framework into three independent modules, completing high-precision pre-assembly in an open area on the ground. Subsequently, using heavy lifting equipment, these three major modules were hoisted and positioned individually. This solution perfectly overcame the site constraints, drastically reduced high-risk aerial work, and significantly boosted installation efficiency. Challenge 2: Waterproofing & Drainage at the New/Old Building Junction One side of the corridor canopy was closely attached to the exterior wall of the existing factory building. Guangzhou experiences abundant rainfall in the summer; improper drainage design could easily lead to rainwater backflow or water accumulation eroding the original building. Jutent Solution: Customized Wall-Mounted Gutter Drainage System During the structural design phase, Jutent engineers conducted in-depth node detailing specifically for the wall-adjacent edge. We customized and installed a dedicated drainage gutter that perfectly integrated with the membrane structure. Through precise slope calculations, we ensured that the rainwater collected by the canopy could be swiftly and systematically channeled into the underground drainage network, completely eliminating waterproofing risks at the wall junction of the large-span membrane structure.

Industrial-Grade Weather-Resistant Membrane: The canopy utilized a heavy-duty 1050g/㎡ PVDF architectural membrane. This material boasts exceptional tear strength and self-cleaning properties, enabling it to resist dust settlement in industrial environments over the long term while providing outstanding sunshade and thermal insulation for the loading area. Precision Factory Fabrication & On-Site Installation: All core steel components underwent pre-fabrication and anti-corrosion coating within the Jutent factory. During the intense lifting and tensioning phases, Jutent dispatched senior installation engineers for full-process on-site supervision. They strictly controlled and supervised the technical and safety aspects of every stress node and membrane tensioning step, ensuring the high-quality delivery and commissioning of the project in 2020.
