Project Overview

The project is located at Folk Song Lake, Nanning, China, and involves a large-scale commercial tensile membrane canopy structure. Completed in June 2025, the project was delivered within a total construction period of approximately 20 days. The canopy covers a total area of about 1,120 m², featuring a 28-meter-diameter circular dome as the core structure, with a maximum height of approximately 18 meters. The primary structure adopts a steel structural system, with a total steel consumption of approximately 26 tons. All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat, providing excellent durability and corrosion resistance. The roof is clad with 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane, offering B1-class fire resistance and meeting safety standards for large public, commercial, and cultural facilities.

Challenge and Solution

Located within a park-based commercial zone, the canopy is designed to accommodate a variety of commercial and public activities. The client required the structure to provide: • Reliable sun shading and weather protection • Sufficient clear height for large commercial spaces • A modern, artistic, and landmark-oriented appearance Based on site conditions and functional requirements, our engineering team developed a custom tensile membrane solution featuring a central circular dome combined with a surrounding wave-shaped membrane ring. The layered structural configuration enhances visual impact while promoting natural air circulation, significantly improving spatial comfort, architectural identity, and landscape value.

Installation
and Support

Installation was carried out by our professional in-house installation team. Considering the structural characteristics and site constraints, a segmented installation method was adopted. Precise membrane tensioning ensured uniform stress distribution and smooth surface geometry, followed by accurate lifting and positioning of each structural segment. The entire construction process was efficiently organized and closely coordinated, allowing the project to be completed on schedule. The finished structure fully meets the original design intent and performance expectations.
