Project Overview

This project is located in Taibao City, Taiwan, China, and was completed in 2025. With a total covered area of approximately 683 square meters, the tensile membrane canopy is designed to provide sun and rain protection for playground amusement facilities. The structure adopts a curved steel frame tensile membrane system. All steel components are treated with epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat for enhanced corrosion resistance. The roof uses 1100 g/m² white PVDF membrane fabric with B1 fire rating, meeting safety requirements for semi-permanent structures and public spaces.

Challenge and Solution

The client required a membrane canopy for amusement facilities that delivers effective weather protection while maintaining a simple, modern appearance and controlled construction cost. The structure also needed to integrate seamlessly with the existing steel framework of the playground equipment. Based on these requirements, our design team developed a standard curved steel frame tensile membrane solution. This cost-effective and practical design achieves structural stability, aesthetic appeal, and functional performance, fully meeting the client’s expectations.

Installation
and Support

Installation was carried out under the on-site guidance of our technical engineers. The canopy was installed using an overall lifting method, ensuring accurate positioning, uniform membrane tension, and precise alignment of the steel structure. The project was completed efficiently and according to schedule, meeting all design and functional requirements.

This curved tensile membrane structure is well suited for commercial areas, amusement parks, shopping malls, and similar venues, offering a lightweight, durable, and visually attractive shading solution.
