Project Overview
This project is located in Palestine and was completed in July 2025. It is a tensile membrane grandstand roofing project for a football stadium. The grandstands are arranged on the east and west sides of the stadium.
The east grandstand consists of two canopies, one large and one small.
The west grandstand is composed of five individual canopies.
The largest canopy measures approximately 42 m × 25 m, while the smaller one measures 19 m × 12 m. The total projected roof area is about 2,830 square meters, with a total steel consumption of approximately 97 tons. All steel components are treated with hot-dip galvanization to ensure long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
The roofing material is white PVDF architectural membrane (1300 g/m²), featuring B1-class fire resistance, fully compliant with safety standards for public and sports grandstand facilities.
Challenge - Solution
The client for this project was the main contractor of the football stadium. Palestine is located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, characterized by hot and dry summers and mild, rainy winters, with possible snowfall during winter in certain areas. The client’s key requirements included:
The grandstand roofing must be planned and constructed in parallel with the main grandstand structure
Roof foundations needed to be integrated into the grandstand structure in advance
The overall design should ensure structural coordination, modern appearance, and visual harmony
The structure must meet defined wind and snow load safety requirements
During the design phase, multiple video meetings were conducted with the client. Based on site conditions and the structural layout of both east and west grandstands, we developed a zoned grandstand canopy solution.
To address the client’s snow-load concerns, comprehensive structural analysis and load calculations were carried out. After several rounds of optimization, the final design fully met safety verification requirements and was formally approved by the client.
Installation - Support
Construction was carried out by the client’s own installation team. We provided:
Complete and detailed steel fabrication and installation drawings
Technical guidelines for membrane installation and tensioning
Multiple sessions of online video-based technical support during site installation
Thanks to our high-precision steel fabrication, all components matched the on-site foundations accurately, significantly reducing installation difficulty. With clear technical documentation and remote guidance, the client’s team quickly mastered both steel structure assembly and membrane installation, enabling the project to be completed on schedule.
The client highly recognized our end-to-end service, covering design, fabrication, and installation support.
