Project Overview
This project is located in Yingzhou City, Hainan Province, China, and was completed in March 2019. It consists of tensile membrane canopy systems for both a sports field grandstand and a swimming pool spectator area within the Agile residential community.
The canopies measure approximately 70 m × 7.3 m and 48 m × 6 m, with a total covered area of around 820 m². The steel structure has a total steel consumption of approximately 25 tons.
All steel components are treated with an epoxy zinc-rich primer and white topcoat, providing excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The roofing membrane is 1100 g/m² white PVDF architectural membrane, offering B1 fire resistance and fully complying with safety standards for public and municipal facilities.

Challenge - Solution
As the sports field and swimming pool were under construction at the same time, the client required tensile membrane grandstand canopies that combine effective sunshade and rain protection with a modern architectural appearance. The structures were required to integrate with the existing reinforced concrete grandstand framework.
Based on site conditions and functional requirements, our team developed two different tensile membrane canopy designs, tailored respectively for the sports field and the swimming pool. Both solutions feature clean, practical forms that meet functional needs while enhancing the overall visual identity and spatial quality of the spectator areas.
Installation - Support
nstallation was carried out by our professional engineering team using an integrated lifting method. Key installation works included steel truss hoisting and precise cable fixing for the membrane system, ensuring uniform membrane tension and a smooth, well-defined canopy form. The project was completed efficiently and met all design and performance requirements.
